Using Standby Staff Teachers

Information About Our Teachers

 

All Standby Staff - Teachers meet the requirements set out by the VIT (Victorian Institute of Teaching) or WACOT (Western Australian College of Teachers) and DEET / DET.

All Standby Staff - Teachers hold or have applied for a current Police Record Check.

All Standby Staff - Teachers are required to carry with them proof of their VIT / WACOT Registration and a current Criminal Record Check which has been conducted either by the VIT / WACOT or DEET / DET and is no more than five years old.

Qualifications Assessment.

According to DEET / DET policy, Principals are responsible for all checks associated with employing casual and permanent staff. Standby Staff Teachers will do all that we can to assist you in ensuring that these standards are met.

Qualification assessment procedures are as follows:

Interstate and International

All interstate and internationally qualified teachers must lodge their qualifications with VIT / WACOT. Should a school decide to hire an interstate or internationally qualified teacher, the Principal must either fax or write to VIT/WACOT requesting that the qualifications be processed immediately.
